Originally formed as a function of the City of Allentown Department of Community and Economic Development, Allentown Ahead now operates as a committee of Allentown Economic Development Corporation. Allentown Ahead reconvened on January 30th, 2008 for a breakfast Great Ideas Wanted!Do you have a brilliant idea to move Allentown Ahead? We are open to suggestions for projects within the scope of any of the above committees or interesting public projects that are not within that box. Please download our Executive Summary Template (MS Word) and get your idea on paper. We have found that this format lends itself to grant applications, so ideas that come to us in this format are almost ready for prime time and easier to fund. An opportunity for business and civic leaders to work together to move Allentown Ahead, interacting closely with city staff and elected officials.
meeting at the Allentown Brew Works. At that point, the group divided into four committees: Visioning, Marketing & Public Relations, Real Estate Development Projects, and Business Attraction. Since then, the committees have come together, identified their purpose, and determined projects that they would work on. The committees will report back to a quarterly meeting of the larger group.
