Allentown Ahead

An opportunity for business and civic leaders to work together to move Allentown Ahead, interacting closely with city staff and elected officials.

Allentown Ahead is a group of business and civic leaders in Allentown, Pennsylvania dedicated to volunteering time to improve the business climate in the city. Members lend their time and expertise to solving some of the more difficult problems related to economic development in the Allentown.

Originally coordinated by the City of Allentown, Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and recently revived by the Allentown Economic Development Corporation, Allentown Ahead makes policy recommendations to city officials, facilitates meetings with local business owners, coordinates with neighborhood groups, guides economic development strategy, advises on branding decisions and works tirelessly to promote Allentown as a destination for work, play and life.

Since January 2008, hundreds of leaders in Allentown, Pennsylvania have joined Allentown Ahead, a project of the Allentown Economic Development Corporation.

Great Ideas Wanted!

Do you have a brilliant idea to move Allentown Ahead? We are open to suggestions for projects within the scope of any of the above committees or interesting public projects that are not within that box. Please download our Executive Summary Template (MS Word) and get your idea on paper. We have found that this format lends itself to grant applications, so ideas that come to us in this format are almost ready for prime time and easier to fund.
