The Bridgeworks Enterprise Center

Since 1989, the AEDC has owned and operated the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center (BEC). BEC is a business development incubator located in an abandoned and renovated Mack Truck manufacturing facility. BEC provides approximately 90,000 square feet of space, at a subsidized lease rate, to new businesses in the Lehigh Valley. During the last 15 years, AEDC's BEC has fostered the growth and development of more than 20 businesses, creating and retaining more than 380 jobs for the Lehigh Valley. BEC has supported diverse business organizations, from high tech genetic testing laboratories, to brick and mortar companies specializing in labor fields such as construction. Many of the businesses BEC supports are owned and operated by minorities.

BEC is located in a Keystone Opportunity Zone, an Enterprise Zone, and a HUB zone, all affording considerable opportunities to our growing businesses. Though financing incentives, tax exemptions, and our strong relationship with the Ben Franklin Technology organization and the new Corporate Alliance with the Wescoe School of Muhlenberg College, BEC is recognized as a regional leader in business development.
